Apple Photos archiveSince 1.7: the System Photo Library copied to a folder or drive you own, originals and current edits, verified file by file (SHA-256, read back after writing), one-way, never deletes from Photos. Since 1.10: albums of the archive exported as plain folders on a disk you choose (one folder per album, Photos folders as subfolders, optional Originals / Current edits and Unfiled), every copy verified, a new dated folder per export, pause and resume, HTML report and JSON manifest.
Best ShotSince 1.6 a star marks the recommended photo in each group of similar shots; the score comes from sharpness, exposure and faces, computed on device. Since 1.10 clicking the star explains the choice with measured reasons only, and says when two shots are too close to call. Scores unchanged since 1.9. A Pick always takes precedence.
Saved searchesSince 1.10: text, filters, sources, Picks and ranking saved as criteria and run again on the photos present at that moment; bookmark button next to the search field, Search menu, cmd-F to the field, undo of deletion with cmd-Z.
